My book, Emergent Grace: Christian Hope for Serious Mental Illness, is number one in schizophrenia books new releases today on Amazon. Please have a look and consider reviewing it. Yes, it’s the book that many of you already downloaded for free (it was downloaded over 3000 times), but I dramatically updated it and added new research. I think it will help a lot of people. I wanted to find a publisher where it would never go out of print, and I did: Wipf and Stock Publishers. They’re a joy to work with and didn’t make me sensationalize my book about serious mental illness. They believe in author autonomy and publish on merit.
As for me, I’m trying not to become obsessive about the press. I almost hired a publicist, but then decided that I don’t like being told what to do and that I would rather buy ads myself and do things that way. I’m currently going to place an ad in Christianity Today. I’m buying an ad that will feature my book and a book on the essentials of suicide prevention.
